| Sulphur City Stables, Maurice Jennings + David McKee Architects Northwest Arkansas The stables sit atop a windswept hill with a long vista over Northwest Arkansas. The ground floor contains six horse stalls, tack room, feed room, and wash stall, all of which flank a sixteen-foot wide central aisle. A spiral stair in the silo leads to the upper level office and apartment and then continues to an observatory at the top. The barn is clad with cedar siding and its seven glue-laminated arches are connected with custom metal brackets. The sliding aisle doors repeat the pattern established in the end-wall glass subdivision. |
