This 3900 square foot family retreat is sited at the edge of a bluff such that its balcony cantilevers out towards the dramatic view.  A bridge connects the parking area to the main entry below a single low-slope gable roof.  A loft level office overlooks the grand main space which contains the living, kitchen, screened porch, and dining areas.  This space connects to the master bedroom.  Generously glazed walls give the feeling of bringing the outdoors into the building.  The lower level contains four bedrooms and three bathrooms.  The "X" motif, established by the subdivision of the entry wall glazing, recurrs in the casement screen patterns, sconces, uplight, and the custom-designed wood lighting pendant in the foyer.

This project received an Honor Award from the Arkansas State AIA in 2005.
